AT THY LOTUS FEET (Verse 25-36)

25.       Drunken with the Wine Divine

The yogis sunk in Self

See Thee as Knowledge itself,

As Truth and Love, as Life and Bliss,

As Witness of all the worlds.

To That Lord of my Heart, I Bow.

26.       Oh! Life of all life! Soul of the soul!

The Bhakta’s all-in-all!

Thou art the Yogi’s peace of mind

The sage’s wisdom, the lover’s heart,

The writer’s pen, the painter’s art

The poet’s inspiration.

Of those absorbed in the world

Thou are the only hope;

And final everlasting Bliss

Of  those that look beyond.

To That Lord of my Heart, I Bow.

27.       Thou art the final goal and rest

Of rishis old and new,

Of siddhas, yogis, monks and priests,

Of sufis, saints, fakeers.

One and all, and soon or late

They all are merged in Thee.

To That Lord of my Heart, I Bow.

28.             Of yogi’s concentration

Thou art the Central Point.

Of  bhaktas’ and saints’ outpourings

Thou  the Central Theme.

And Thou art the breath of life

Of all who aspire to Thee.

To That Lord of my Heart, I Bow.

29.             The steady of heart and mind

See Thee always

Within themselves;

And when they see Thee thus within

They see Thee everywhere.

To That Lord of my Heart, I Bow.

30.             In objects with names and forms

Hidden and immanent

Yogis search and search for Thee

                But Thou art never found.

Who can fine Thee, O! ever Unseen?

To That Lord of my Heart, I Bow.

31.              Those who choose devotion’s path

Try another way,

With burning heart and humble mind

They strive with all their zeal;-and fail!

None can fathom Thee, my Lord!

Language fails, the mind is dazed

Oh! inscrutable God!

To That Lord of my Heart, I Bow.

32.             So countless are the forms Thou hast,

So endless their expressions,

That Thy Vision that each one has

Differs from every other’s.

To That Lord of my Heart, I Bow.

33.             Who is enthroned in the hearts of all,

Who rules not mind and matter alone

But all this universe

By Satwa, rajas and Tamas, the Gunas three,

That is none but Thee.

Thou art the source from which

The whole creation flows;

And Thou the Ocean Infinite

Wherein ‘tis merged.

To That Lord of my Heart, I Bow.

34.             All things are equal in Thy eye

None is favoured, none despised;

That is with Thee a rule.

Unattached, impartial, wise and just,

1 The three qualities of nature.

Such, O king! Is e’er Thy rule

Your heart doth still to Bhaktas fly

 As like doth like attract.

To That Lord of my Heart, I Bow.

35.             Go and see Siddha great

Working wonders that astound;

He is noon but Thee;

Go and see a pious Sage

In Love and Joy immersed

And who is he but Thee?

And on this earthy earth Thou shinest

With the light of such alone;

And Thou alone rewardest them

With the Freedom that they want.

To That Lord of my Heart, I Bow.

36.             In earth and sky, in space and time

Thou art the all-pervading Life,

And Thou the Lord of all created things—

Be they evolving of mature.

Thou art the Master of all the worlds

And master of their Lords—

Of Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and all.

To That Lord of my Heart, I Bow.
